Wow. String Theory set to an A Capella Bohemian Rhapsody. Down right amazing. Thank you Anne Marie Salan for sharing this with me.
Not only did I get 10 hours of NyQuil induced sleep last night, I also have a video that I am quite proud of to show you today. It addresses a commonly held misconception that a negative acceleration always means you are slowing down. I do this by way of examples. Kate (my wife) drove the Prius with a camera suction cupped to the window and videoed me riding my bike several times. In the end I ended up with four different examples on the screen at once and 25 different video layers to describe it all. I am really proud about how well it worked. Enjoy. (4 different examples @ 7:28, Outtakes or how the bike riding was filmed at 8:51) Introduction to Acceleration with Example Problem. Again, I show many common mistakes; always important. Enjoy the video of the problem @ 3:15. It was simultaneously filmed with 3 video cameras. Also, the outtakes and basketball montage @ 10:00 are entertaining and show a bit of the "behind the scenes" for this video. Here are the t-shirt color voting results:
Light Blue - 10 Votes Purple - 7 Votes Burnt Orange - 6 Votes Black - 5 Votes Forrest Green - 5 Votes Athletic Heather - 5 Votes (I can only have six colors at this time so the six above are the winners) Kelly - 4 Votes Yellow - 3 Votes Royal - 2 Votes Red - 2 Votes Classic Pink - 1 Vote White - 1 Vote Silver - 0 Votes Thank you to all who voted; I will let you know when the t-shirts are available. Jon p.s. I voted for white. I will be turning in the top 6 to the printers tomorrow morning. Can anyone explain why Light Blue is the clear winner? Or why we have two greens in the top 6 (Kelly and Forrest Green)? I am sorry that tie-dye is not an option; clearly people wish it could be.
This is the new design for the Flipping Physics Logo. I bet you want a t-shirt with this logo on it, don't you? Well, now you get to help pick the colors of the Flipping Physics T-Shirts! I have placed a poll in the upper right corner of my Blog. Pick your color and in a few weeks, buy a t-shirt!! A few details: 1) Dark shirts will be printed with a white version of the logo. 2) For those who are extremely picky about their color choices, the colors can be seen here. 3) The mobile version of the website has the poll at the bottom of the page. Yep, I make physics videos in the hope that you can learn physics. If you are a physics teacher, I am very hopeful that you will want to use them to help flip your physics class. Archives
