Before we can do more complicated Newton’s 2nd Law problems, we need to understand how to sum the forces with components. Many thanks to my three brothers, Ken, Jim and Chris, for agreeing to be in today’s video!

And I still could use some of your votes for #eddies14.  In fact, some of you think you voted and actually haven't.  As I explain in my begging video, the first time you vote you actually need to click the 👍 twice, once to register with social media and then to vote. So, if you don't think you clicked the 👍 twice, please go back and  Vote for Flipping Physics for the EduBlog Awards, thanks!

I recently read a Detroit Metropolitan Area Physics Teachers blog post about Conceptual Difficulties with Acceleration and I realized that it would be a good idea to make a video about the topic. Thank you DMAPT for the suggestion!

Force vs. Time on a Dynamics Cart

Today’s video is an extension of our previous lesson.  I wanted to further examine the force as a function of time graph and determine why it is that the force of tension changes even though the free body diagram on the mass hanging does not change.

Fund Drive!

With the upcoming holidays many students are considering giving their classroom teacher a thank you gift. I respectfully request you consider giving your online teacher a donation as well. While you may see me only by way of the electronic information that reaches your computer, I assure you I am real. Because I am not employed by any school district, I essentially work for you. The only way I can continue to create this valuable content is with your support. If you can afford to, I ask that you donate at the requested level of one cent per minute learned to Keep Flipping Physics Alive.

Thanks and have wonderful holidays,
mr.p

Yep, I make physics videos in the hope that you can learn physics.  If you are a physics teacher, I am very hopeful that you will want to use them to help flip your physics class.
